Short Video Showing Much of Lee and Howard's Trip

On February 12, 2025, Lee West, former Associate Pastor of New Covenant Church, Long Beach MS, where I then served as pastor, and now the founder of The One Rescues (theonerescues.org), sent an appeal to me and to the Men for Nations board challenging us and inviting us to come to Pakistan to Preach the gospel, teach and challenge the men to pray, and to rescue families from slavery in the brick kilns.

The board was receptive to this idea and one of the board members, Jim Prichard, prayed, “Lord if this is really you asking us (and specifically Howard) to go to Pakistan and minister, please give us a clear confirmation.”

That afternoon I was reading through some emails sent to our M4N’s Gmail account and found an email from a pastor in Pakistan asking us to come and preach the gospel, teach them how to pray, and minister there. I had never received such a letter before, and it was a clear confirmation that we were to go to Pakistan and minster. You know, when we are not sure of the Lord’s will, we can often be confused, fearful, or unsure of direction, but once the Lord clearly speaks, the confusion is ended, and the decision is made. We Will Obey! And we did!

I sent out an appeal for just $3500 for the expenses of the trip. Included in that amount was $1000 for one evangelistic/revival service. In speaking with Lee about this I said, “I can’t see going halfway round the world and only having one evangelistic service. If it’s just about the money, the Lord has money. Let’s trust the Lord to bring in the money and do at least three evangelistic meetings.” We agreed and that very afternoon I received a call from a dear sister in the Lord who had been a member of New Covenant Church years ago. She said, “I want to give you $3500 for your Pakistan Outreach!” And this was the start of an outpouring of financial blessings for the trip. All told, more than $10,000 came in for this outreach and we used every bit of it in Pakistan to minister and be a blessing there.

Here’s a summary of how God worked through us as we went in obedience to His clearly revealed will. All glory and honor go to the Lord God, maker of heaven and earth and the Savior of the World, Jesus the Christ! It was a life changing experience to be able to minister to these precious Pakistani and Afghani people.

The Highlights of our Mission:

  1. There were 221 Pakistanis (including 80 Hindus) who stood to receive the Lord during these two weeks of meetings and ministries.

  2. We paid the hospital bill ($600) for a little boy who had chicken pox but couldn’t afford proper treatment. He had huge blisters all over his little body.

  3. We also delivered two families from slavery in the brick kilns, and visited three families that Lee had previously freed on his last trip.

  4. We challenged men in a men's meeting with 120 men (including 20 pastors)

  5. Eleven men were saved who had never come to the church but came in because they felt honored as men). This was the first all men's meeting ever in Pastor Adil's Church and is what made him know that he had to establish Men for Nations Pakistan. (Since we left, he has already held another men’s prayer meeting and plans to have them meet every two weeks and then once a month to join with men in the network of churches that he oversees.

  6. Lee ministered to around 230 pastors and leaders at the leadership meeting. (I was sick in bed for three days and missed this meeting).

  7. We provided a water well for 2000 people in the Hindu community (previously they had to walk 20 miles round trip to get water). We actually pumped water before we left the village at the end of that day.

  8. We also gave out 50 bibles, 50 mosquito nets, fed them a large supper, gave candy to the children, and preached the gospel to them. Approximately 80 persons stood to receive Christ!

  9. We visited the Amiri family several times. These are refugees from Afghanistan who we are hiding in Pakistan from their abusive father and the Taliban until being able to resettle in Canada. This is a grandmother, mother, three daughters, and two sons who are fleeing from a brutal and evil Muslim father/husband who beat the daughters and gambled the two oldest daughters away in a bet. The daughters refused to go with the men who came to claim their “prize” and the family fled to Pakistan. The oldest daughter miraculously saw Lee’s website and wrote to him saying, “We are two young sisters from Afghanistan & have faced years of tortures in Afghanistan. We are in Pakistan but at high risk of arrest and deportation. Can you please help us in saving our lives, we want to live!”

Lee had just heard the Lord speak to him one week before that he was to begin rescuing people. He said Lord I don’t know anyone who needs rescuing, and I don’t know how to rescue, but if you will send me someone who needs rescuing then I will help them. Then he received the email from the Amiri daughter. He was on a pastor’s conference call and told them the story, but he said, “I didn’t know anyone in Pakistan, and I don’t know anyone who does rescues there.” One of the pastors said, “Well I do. I know a Pakistani pastor there and he does rescues.”

That was the start of the process that has led to today. Lee met Pastor Adil, the Pakistani pastor and they have been working together to rescue the Amiri family as well as freeing families from slavery in the brick kilns. On our recent trip I was blessed to be able to rescue one father and his two daughters from slavery and give them a rickshaw so they can make a living serving as a taxi. Their wife/mother had died two years ago while slaving at the brick kiln.

Part of the persecution of Christians in Pakistan is to not give them the good paying jobs, so they are often not able to provide for their family adequately. When an emergency like an unexpected hospital visit, etc., they go to the brick kiln owners and borrow money. The interest rate quickly goes from 10% to 70% and when they cannot pay the debt, they and their children are taken into slavery to work in the brick kilns seven days a week from morning to evening all day every day in the 100-plus heat.

  • We preached 10 times in 13 days.

  • I also did two teachings on Pastor Adil's Face Book page and all the services that Lee and I preached were videoed and posted on Pastor Adil's site and have already been viewed by thousands.

Praise Jesus!

All Glory to God!
